We are pleased to invite you to the Annual BIOEAST Bioeconomy Conference 2026!
The Annual BIOEAST Bioeconomy Conference lands in the historic city of Zadar on 22-23 April 2026. Hosted by the University of Zadar, this isn't just another meeting. It is the annual checkpoint for the eleven countries of the Central and Eastern European macro-region to validate their national bioeconomy action plans.
Organised under the umbrella of the BIOEAST Initiative and powered by the BOOST4BIOEAST project, the conference will serve as a working forum. The goal? To ensure that the policies being drafted are not just theoretical, but are ready for real-world impact and valorisation.
What’s on the Agenda?
For two days, Zadar becomes the hub of CEE bioeconomy thinking. Here is what participants can expect:
-
Policy Deep-Dive: Insights into how EU research priorities translate into on-the-ground realities in the CEE macro-region.
-
Interactive Sessions: Move beyond passive listening. Thematic sessions are designed to actively refine the action plans, focusing on implementation rather than just theory.
-
The Network Effect: Connect with the people who matter—policymakers shaping legislation, researchers generating data, and industry actors looking for the next big innovation.
-
Beyond the Lecture Hall: A curated field trip will take attendees outside the conference walls to see practical bioeconomy applications in action.
The Spotlight: Poster Session Returns
After a successful run last year, the Poster Session is back. It serves as a visual marketplace of ideas, showcasing the best of what the region has to offer.
Who should apply?
Researchers, industry professionals, policymakers, and students working on innovative bioeconomy solutions or projects relevant to the BIOEAST countries.
