You can register until 23 April for the ESNI–NERM 2026 Conference, the flagship event on nutrient recycling, taking place in Brussels on 28–29 April 2026. The event is co-organised by the Biorefine Cluster Europe and the European Sustainable Phosphorus Platform.
The conference will highlight the latest research and demonstration results in nutrient management and nutrient recycling, bringing together key stakeholders from across the sector. |

FUELGAE webinar: LCA Perspectives Across EU Bio-Economy & Circularity Projects

The FUELGAE project will host the webinar “LCA Perspectives Across EU Bio-Economy & Circularity Projects” on 28 April at 10:00 CET, together with the EU funded projects BIOBUILD, CELLFIL, RecAL and SUSBOARD.
The webinar will explore how EU bioeconomy and circularity projects are applying Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) in practice, highlighting where approaches converge or differ. The event will feature short project presentations, showcasing LCA applications across materials, fuels, textiles, and metals. A panel discussion will close the webinar, focusing on LCA challenges, cross-sector learning, and opportunities for harmonization.

LUCRA as Circular Europe category winner of the #CBEScaleUp Photo Competition
|
|
| LUCRA was named winner in the Circular Europe category of the #CBEScaleUp Photo Competition, recognising CBE JU-funded projects that turn innovation into real-world market solutions. The award was presented at the CBE JU Stakeholder Forum on 24 March, where Jaakko Pajunen (Boreal Bioproducts) and Tanja Meyer (Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant) accepted it on behalf of the project. The winning photo, captured by Hanna Nore, highlights LUCRA’s innovative approach to transforming sawdust waste into succinic acid. |

SYMBIO introduces their Value Chain Generator with a video

SYMBIO created a video on introducing the Value Chain Generator developed within project. This generator supports the creation and development of sustainable bio-based value chains.
The tool helps stakeholders identify opportunities for collaboration, explore new value chain configurations, and support the transition towards a more circular and sustainable bioeconomy.
By connecting actors across sectors and regions, the tool aims to facilitate innovation, strengthen cooperation, and unlock new possibilities for sustainable resource use.

FOLOU releases video on Twinning Regions workshop highlights

The FOLOU project has released a new video from its first in-person Twinning Regions Workshop, featuring testimonials from the University of Pisa, ILVO, YPARD and the Wielkopolska Region.
In the video, participants reflect on the value of the workshop, share key takeaways, and highlight the importance of collaboration and knowledge exchange in tackling food loss at the primary production stage. |

Event ReJuice at Funding the Future event 9 June 2026 - Tilburg, The Netherlands
ReJuice will be present at Funding the Future, Interreg Vlaanderen-Nederland’s public event on 9 June 2026 in Tilburg, where more than 80 cross-border projects will showcase their results. At its expo stand, ReJuice will present innovative applications developed within the project, including algae cultivated on flower juice, PHA bioplastics and algae cookies for tasting. |

On 11–12 June, Seville will host the 2nd BioINSouth Forum, a two-day event dedicated to advancing the circular bioeconomy through place-based approaches in Southern Europe, hosted locally by our partner CTA.
Building on the momentum of the 1st BioINSouth Forum held in Catania, the event will bring together public authorities, leading companies, research centres and strategic stakeholders from the Andalusian ecosystem, alongside prominent representatives of the circular bioeconomy at European level.

Event FertiCovery & LIFE DIMITRA at KOS 2026 Conference
24 - 27 June 2026 - Kos, Greece
The 13th edition of the International Conference on Sustainable Solid Waste Management will take place on 24-27 June, in Kos (Greece).
The conference focuses on recent developments in municipal solid waste management and aims to engage both scientists and citizens, raising awareness and stimulating interest in the latest advancements in the field.
During the conference, the FertiCovery project will host an Open Forum to showcase its achievements to date, while the LIFE DIMITRA project will organise a dedicated networking session with relevant projects and initiatives.

The Biorefine Cluster is supported by the European Biogas Association (EBA), a non-profit organisation which advocates for recognition of biomethane and other renewable gases as sustainable, on demand and flexible energy sources that provide multiple knock on socio-economic and environmental benefits.
