BIOEAST HUB CR - partner of the newly announced European CBE - JU 'BIOSPARK' Project to Bridge Bioeconomy Skills Gap

A new Project is coming, stay tuned.

BIOEAST HUB CR is proud to announce its official participation in BIOSPARK, a pioneering European initiative funded by the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU). The project is part of a newly announced €172 million investment package aimed at scaling up Europe’s circular bio-based industries.

As the sole Coordination and Support Action funded under the latest call, BIOSPARK has been awarded a €1 million grant to tackle one of the sector's most pressing hurdles: the training and skills gap across Europe's bioeconomy.

Empowering the Future Workforce

To accelerate Europe’s transition away from fossil resources, the sector requires highly specialized talent. BIOSPARK will design demand-driven curricula for the education, training, and reskilling of university students and industry professionals. The project will establish a network of bio-based educational hubs across all 27 EU Member States, fostering unprecedented collaboration between universities, research organizations, and industry.

Driving Regional Impact

The participation of BIOEAST HUB CZ coordinator of BIOEAST Thematic working group on bioeconomy education and BIOEAST UniNet is crucial to ensuring enhancement of bioeconomy education in  Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and also that CEE is playing a leading role in this sustainable transition. By representing the BIOEAST macro- region, BIOEAST HUB CZ ensures that local biomass potentials, economic realities, and educational needs are integrated directly into Europe's future training frameworks and supporting bioeconomy deployment in CEE.

BIOEAST HUB CZ is  looking forward to working alongside its European partners to empower the next generation of bioeconomy leaders, innovators, and practitioners.
